Salad?

Let's  just say that I'm not a big fan salad. Cross that—I am not a big fan of lettuce. I like lettuce-less salad, like Caprese Salad, or salad without any vegetables at all, like Tuna or Egg Salad. But I know that lettuce is good for me—as a filler. Alright, it is also somewhat moderate in price and easy to prepare (you just dump it into a bowl and call it a meal). So I yielded to it.

To make the salad bearable, I added some cut-up chicken leftover to it. But that wasn't enough. I needed something sweet and something crunchy. So, I incorporated some sliced pears and topped it with sliced almonds. They you have it. My lazy Saturday lunch.

While it was decent, I'm still not a convert though. But I still have a big container of lettuces in the fridge. Like it or not, I will need to eat them before they go bad. Who knows one day I might have a change of heart. But I highly doubt it. And for dinner tonight, I had pizza—Vegetable pizza. So it couldn't be that bad, right? Especially since I had a bowlful of salad for lunch ;-)

    1. Kena buat cantik-cantik to whet the appetite. Bila dah cantik, sayang nak makan pulak. Alasan….

  2. T,
Saya pon tak suka lettuce (dan salad sebenornye). Kalo lepas makan salah macam salad T tu, 5 minit lepas tu mesti meroyan nak makan nasi beriani. Perut stress.

Eh, love your photo lah! Salad nampak sungguh colorful dan elegant. :)

    1. Yeah, the gambar turned out good despite not really into them. I think that might be the reason why it turned out well. Usually, I would want to eat the food right away and forgetting to take the photo until halfway through it. I didn’t have the issue with this. Salad can wait :-)

    1. It is healthy and easy. Fruits and nuts do give salad a little boost to my palate Sometimes I forgot about the leaves altogether. .
